Mixing in anharmonic potential well
نویسندگان
چکیده
We prove phase-space mixing for solutions to Liouville’s equation integrable systems. Under a natural non-harmonicity condition, we obtain weak convergence of the distribution function with rate ⟨time⟩−1. In one dimension, also study case where this condition fails at certain energy, showing that still holds but slower rate. When and functions have higher regularity, can be faster.

The quantum double well anharmonic oscillator in an external field
The aim of this paper is twofold. First of all, we study the behaviour of the lowest eigenvalues of the quantum anharmonic oscillator under influence of an external field. We try to understand this behaviour using perturbation theory and compare the results with numerical calculations. This brings us to the second aim of improving the method used to carry out the numerical calculations.

This study is a preliminary investigation towards the design of effective colour spaces and colour tools to allow users to quickly and accurately select a given colour in a digital-display environment. It has been shown that many non-expert users find the RGB colour space to be non-intuitive. The choice of colour space on various visual tasks has also been shown to be an important factor and th...

متن کاملNew instantons in the double - well potential
A new instanton solution is found in the quantum-mechanical double-well potential with a four-fermion term. The solution has finite action, S = −m3 3λ − ( mA 4 √ 2λ + g 261m 8960 ) ǫξiξjξkξl, where A is a bosonic collective coordinate, ξi, i = 1, ..., 4 are fermionic collective coordinates and g,m and λ are coupling constants. We explain why in general the instanton action can depend on collect...
متن کاملAnomalous jumping in a double-well potential.
Noise-induced jumping between metastable states in a potential depends on the structure of the noise. For an alpha-stable noise, jumping triggered by single extreme events contributes to the transition probability. This is also called Levy flights and might be of importance in triggering sudden changes in geophysical flow and perhaps even climatic changes. The steady-state statistics is also in...
